Shanghai’s big automakers saw production plunged by 75%

In a Tuesday report, the association said that five major car companies in Shanghai saw production plunged by 75% in April.
Retail spending surged 0.9% in April, boosted by demand and inflation

Sales per month increased 0.9% overall, just below the Dow Jones estimate for a 1% increase, the Commerce Department reported. Excluding autos, sales surged 0.6%, over the 0.4% estimate.
