April 6, 2023: Poshmark, the fashion resale marketplace, has launched Posh Shows, live shopping powered by a community and real-time social experiences. It is the first time that sellers can live stream on Poshmark, allowing them to leverage live video to sell items from their Poshmark closets and reach an established community of over 100 million users. The platform is designed to make selling simple and social, with an easy-to-use interface and unique suite of selling tools, making it accessible for anyone to get started and make sales. Fashion resellers regardless of the size of their closets or number of followers can participate in Posh Shows, allowing sellers to succeed with just a closet and a phone. Poshmark CEO and co-founder, Manish Chandra, said the difference between Poshmark and live shopping competitors like QVC and HSN is that anybody should be able to sell on the platform. Sellers can sell items that are part of their inventory and part of their closets, and Posh Shows also allows them to sell items from other sellers. The bidding process is similar to a stock exchange, where products find a market clearance price. The platform makes it simple for anyone to become a seller and start a live show, with features like Quick List, which removes the friction from live selling, allowing anyone to take an item, create a listing on the fly, and sell it live in seconds.
