January 12, 2024 : In a strategic shift within the sportswear giant, Nike Inc. announced the departure of Andrew Campion, a veteran executive who has served in key roles for the past 17 years. Managing Director of Strategic Business Ventures Campion will step down in April 2024, marking the culmination of a distinguished career at Nike.
Campion’s tenure at Nike spanned a period of significant growth and transformation for the company. He joined Vice President in 2007, bringing diverse experience from Disney. Subsequently, he ascended through the ranks, serving as Chief Financial Officer from 2013 to 2020 and then Chief Operating Officer until July 2023. In his latter role, CampionCampion oversaw critical operations, including supply chain, technology, and sourcing, which were pivotal in maintaining Nike’s global competitiveness.
His recent transition to Managing Director of Strategic Business Ventures signaled a focus on exploring new avenues for growth and innovation. However, as part of ongoing organizational realignment efforts, Nike has opted to streamline this division, leading to Campion’s decision to depart.
“Andy has made significant contributions to Nike over the past 17 years,” stated John Donahoe, CEO of Nike, in a press release. “His leadership, financial acumen, and operational expertise have driven our growth and profitability. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
